Three More Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis Schools Join the Junior Achievement Programme

Basseterre, St Kitts, 2 November 2006 Three schools - Lynn Jeffers and Charlestown Secondary in Nevis as well as the Washington Archibald High in St Kitts - have recently signed on to the Junior Achievement Programme. On 31 October 2006, teachers and students from these schools joined their counterparts from the six schools that participated in the first Junior Achievement Innovative Company project, at an orientation seminar for the 2006/2007 project, held at the ECCB headquarters. The Innovative Company project provides third and fourth form students with an opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial and business skills. It requires them to identify and propose business opportunities, operate a business and provide a financial report at the end of the project. The young entrepreneurs will be able to showcase and sell their products and services to the public at a trade fair on 27 April 2007. The programme will culminate with an awards ceremony in October 2007. The Junior Achievement programme began in Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis as a pilot project in October 2004 and was officially launched in October 2005.
