Team Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Retains Gloria Ballantyne Championship Trophy at 5th ECCB International Netball Series

3 September 2025, Basseterre, Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis –Team Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has retained the Gloria Ballantyne Championship Trophy for the second consecutive year when the 5th ECCB International Netball Series concluded at the Tanteen Netball Facility in Grenada.

Seven teams from ECCB member countries—Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines competed in the tournament with Barbados, Cayman Islands, and Guyana participating as visiting teams. 

Team Saint Vincent and the Grenadines dominated the Series, remaining undefeated in eight out of nine matches played. The final game of the series between Team Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Team Grenada was a nail-biting challenge where both teams fought head to head to game point. Along with securing the prestigious championship trophy, the team was honored with the double award for the best shooting and best defending team, boasting an outstanding 87.0 per cent accuracy. Mary Ann Frederick, playing as the team's Goal Shoot, was recognised as the tournament's most accurate shooter and Most Valuable Player. 

Team Grenada finished in second place attaining the award for best team on parade, with Saint Lucia securing third in the tournament. 

Team Anguilla, making its second appearance in the tournament in over a decade, was acknowledged as the most disciplined team in the Series. 

The results of the 5th ECCB International Netball Series are as follows:

  • 1st – Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
  • 2nd – Grenada
  • 3rd - Saint Lucia
  • 4th – Antigua and Barbuda
  • 5th – Commonwealth of Dominica
  • 6th – Montserrat
  • 7th – Anguilla

The tournament was held from August 23 – 31.
