
ECCU Generative AI and Python Summer Camp Concludes with Regional Showcase of Chatbots and Multimedia Projects
29 August 2025, Basseterre, Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis – The Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) Generative AI and Python Summer Camp 2025, which ran from July - August, concluded today with participants connecting virtually for the Closing Ceremony and the Regional Showcase and judging of Chatbot and Multimedia projects.
Conceived by the ECCB in 2024 and funded by the ECCB and the Republic of China (Taiwan), the annual ECCU Generative AI and Python Summer Camp provides a transformative high-tech educational experience for participants aged 13 to 18 who gain cutting-edge skills in Python programming, artificial intelligence, data analytics, user experience, and multimedia design.
Approximately 400 participants attended this year’s summer camp, which was held in Antigua and Barbuda, the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The participants were exposed to two educational specialties: Level 1 - Python Chatbots and Level 2 - Python in Multimedia Platforms.
During the Showcase, participants presented 21 chatbot and seven multimedia projects, which focused on providing real-world solutions towards advancing resilience-building areas such as crime prevention, financial education, and heritage tourism. Their entries were assessed by a judging panel headed by Minister of Infrastructure, Communications, Utilities, Housing, IT, and E-Government Services for Anguilla, Honourable José Vanterpool.
The Winners of the Group Chatbot Showcase are:
- 1st: Tech Rats - Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis: See The Chains, Unlock Your Gains(Prize: EC$8,000.00)
- 2nd: Quantum - Antigua and Barbuda: Let’s Explore Together - Explore ANU (Prize: EC$5,000.00)
- 3rd: Tech Avengers - Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis: Ancestra & The Guardian - The Dual Sentinels of St Kitts & Nevis (Prize: EC$3,000.00)
The Winners of the Group Multimedia Showcase are:
- 1st: Vibe Tribe - Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis: The Magic of Sugar Mas - From Shackles to Sugar Band, Canefield to Kollision (Prize: EC$8,000.00)
- 2nd: Wadadli Tech - Antigua and Barbuda: An Antiguan Childhood (Prize: EC$5,000.00)
- 3rd: Mystic Wolves - Antigua and Barbuda: Grandma’s Diary: A Journey Through Antigua’s Past (Prize: EC$3,000.00)
There were also Individual Awards in Leadership and Teamwork and Attendance and Active Participation announced for each educational specialty and camp location. These were judged by camp facilitators ahead of the Regional Showcase and Closing Ceremony.
Leadership and Teamwork Winners are: Jaylen Brown, Rein Charles, Chad Etienne, Leona Fagen, Glenva Harrigan, Jehovanny Hill, Kessey Johnson, Prince-Nedd Sandy, Kaleigh Rodgers, Clearisa Talbert, Isiah Toney, and Jehu Wilson.
Attendance and Active Participation Winners are: Nhyim Auguste, Cleon Boatswain, Keri Davis, Aaron Greene, Omari Hodge, Bianca Isaac, Chaeli Otto, Anessia Patterson, Aunary Peters, Isaac Roberts, Nathan Stapleton, and Lashaun Thompson.
