The base year is the year from which GDP from other years is compared; usually, the year selected does not include any outliers or major disruptions to economic activity. The base year enables estimates of economic growth that have been adjusted for inflation (i.e. constant price values). The 2006 base year is used for compilation by Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, and Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis. The 2006 base year is also used for compilation at the ECCU level.
