The reverse design of this special commemorative $10 silver proof coin shows a depiction of the UWI’s logo and motto with the circumferential inscription '50th Anniversary of University of the West Indies' and the dates 1948- 1998. The obverse design features a portrait of Sir Arthur Lewis with the inscription 'East Caribbean States'.
