ECCB Recognises Staff for Long Service and High Performance

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) recognised staff members who have demonstrated their dedication to the people of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) over the years and in the past year at its 40th Anniversary Gala and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, 9 December.

The event, held at the St Kitts Marriott Ballroom, included presentations of the Long Service, S.T.A.R., Spirit, Impact and Governor's Awards to various staff members.

Through its S.T.A.R. Award, the ECCB recognises and celebrates individuals and the department, which exemplify the Bank's mantra of: Service Excellence, Teamwork and Truth Telling, Accountability and Results. Eleven staff members received S.T.A.R. awards for their demonstration of the Bank's mantra over the past year.  The Corporate Relations Department copped the Department Award.

The Impact Award is presented to staff members or teams who have developed, revised and/or implemented a system, tool, process, initiative and/or programme within their departments or across the Bank, which has had a positive impact. Twenty-three staff members were recognised and presented with Impact awards. Their efforts were in the areas of: enhancing community life on the ECCB campus; Anti-money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) policies; and the Bank's Information Technology Help Desk initiative.

The Spirit Award goes to staff who actively volunteer and support campus initiatives. They also enhance the image of the Bank by being ECCB ambassadors and modelling the ECCB as a great place to work, learn and grow. Four individuals from various departments received the Spirit Award.

The Governor's Award is presented to staff members who exemplify a commitment to the vision of the ECCB.  Three individuals were recipients of the Governor's award.

In his remarks at the Ceremony, Governor of the ECCB, Timothy N.J. Antoine, congratulated all the nominees and awardees and thanked them for their continued commitment to the Bank and the people of the ECCU.  He posed the question: "what do stars do?"  The loud response was: "they shine brightly". The Governor encouraged all awardees to continue to shine and to sustain their brilliance and excellence.
