ECCB Announces Second AI and Python Summer Camp
12 June 2025, Basseterre, Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis – The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) is preparing the next generation of innovators across the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) through its Generative Artificial Intelligence and Python summer camp.
The ECCB’s Artificial Intelligence and Python Summer Camp is an interactive, hands-on experience to help young people ages 13 – 18 across the ECCU to become innovators and gain the technical competencies they need to survive in a competitive work environment.
Speaking on this week’s episode of ECCB Connects, Senior Project Specialist at the ECCB, Sybil Welsh, says that the objective of the camp is in keeping with the Bank’s mandate to bridge the economic gap and ensure the future success of young people across the region.
Welsh explains that the focus this year will be on creating chatbots for areas such as cultural tourism, financial education, crime mitigation and more. Students can benefit from this free venture by signing up with their respective schools or directly through the ECCB website.
