2018 - 2019 Creative Youth Competition

The 2018-2019 Competition focused on Essay Writing. Students had to write on one of the following topics: 

  1. Towards a Cashless Society: challenges, opportunities and the realities for the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union.
  2. For the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union to become economically viable, we must strive towards financial sustainability through technology. Discuss.

The following were the terms of the competitition:

  • Students in the Eastern Caribbean  Central Bank (ECCB) member countries aged 13 - 19 were eligible to participate.
  • Essays had to be between 750 and 1,000 words, typed, double spaced on letter size paper, with a separate cover sheet giving details of the name, age, and school attended by the participant. Click here for cover sheet.
  • Essays were judged in two categories: participants aged 13 - 16 and 17 - 19 and were assessed for content and soundness of points (20), logical development (20), clarity (20), knowledge of the subject (25), command of language (10), presentation (5).
