Financial Stability

Financial Stability Issues
The theme for the Bank's operations in 2003 is “Stability as a precondition for Growth and Development ”. The chief areas of focus are the maintenance of a stable exchange rate and a strong financial system. Various information tools have been developed about the issues on which the region’s financial stability hinges.

Know Your Notes
(available soon on our website)
In an effort to combat the spread of counterfeit notes and to deter prospective counterfeiters, the Bank has developed a “Know Your Notes” Video, as well as brochures and posters detailing the security features of the Eastern Caribbean Bank Notes. These tools have been distributed widely throughout the ECCU. The videos are aired from time to time by the commercial banks in their banking halls, as well as by the television stations in each island. Copies are available on loan to groups and organisations on request.

The New Round Coin Family
(available soon on our website)
In 2002, the Bank issued new round coins. In an effort to facilitate recognition and proper use of the coins, the ECCB has developed a video infomercial, detailing the features of the coins.
