ECCU FINANCIAL LITERACY MONTH 2006 SCHOOLS' CARTOON CONTEST

OBJECTIVES:
The contest is designed to:
1. Increase financial literacy among the region's youth through the creative expression of the concepts of money management and investing.
2. Raise public awareness and understanding of money matters.

ELIGIBILITY:
•  Participants must be enrolled in a public/private primary or secondary school in the ECCU.

CONTEST ORGANISATION AND CONTENT:
•  The contest will be organised in two categories: Category I, Primary School and Category II, Secondary School.
Each entry must be an original, previously unpublished work by the entrant.
The entry should be cartoon of not more than six frames.
The cartoon should depict the EC Dollar as a hero and incorporate the theme “Manage Your Money, Enhance Your Life”.
Each entry must be legible.
Cartoons could be digital (computer) or non-digital (hand drawn etc).
Cartoons could be in colour or black and white.
Each entry must be submitted with an entry form. (See copy attached).
Students may submit multiple entries.
Entries must be submitted to the ECCB Agency Office in your territory or the ECCB Headquarters via the Education Coordinators and the Ministry of Education by 8 December 2006.
Each participant in this contest agrees to assign all copyright, trademark and other intellectual property rights to the ECCU Financial Literacy Month 2006 Schools Cartoon Competition.
   
JUDGING:
The contest will be judged on a regional level.
Cartoons will be judged based on the innovativeness, visual appeal, message and creativity.
   
AWARDS:
Category I – Primary School:
First Prize $400.00      Second Prize: $200.00
Category II – Secondary School:
First Prize: $600.00      Second Prize: $300.00

Winning entries will be published.
