ECCB to Issue Commemorative Coin
The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) issued a new one dollar ($1) commemorative circulation coin in February 2009 in celebration of the Bank’s 25th anniversary on 1 October 2008. The issue of the commemorative circulation coin was limited to 500,000 pieces. The coin was round with ribbed edge and features the Bank’s laurel and the motto “Together We Stand”. The new coin did not replace the existing one dollar ($1) coin. The existing coin is still legal tender and will remain in circulation along with the commemorative circulation coin.
