Best Corporate Citizen Award

The aim of the ECCB Best Corporate Citizen Award for commercial banks is for commercial banks to demonstrate their corporate responsibility to our society and environment.

The award is made to the bank adjudged to have contributed significantly in the stipulated areas.

Judging is on the basis of the commercial bank's submissions and surveys completed by their public and private sector clients.
   
Mr Joseph Williams, Branch Manager of ABI Bank Ltd accepted the award for the 2006 "OECS Best Corporate Citizen Among Commercial Banks" from Mrs Elizabeth Lewis-Channon, at a ceremony held at the ECCB Headquarters on 13 November 2006, following the presentation of the 11th Sir Arthur Lewis Memorial Lecture.

Juding Criteria

Educational Development:- Literacy programmes; scholarships (primary, secondary and tertiary); student loan programmes; career guidance; work/study programmes; computer literacy; adult education; internships; human resource development.

Community Development:- Assistance to and involvement with church and civic groups and associations; adoption programmes.

Environmental Awareness:- Recycling; preservation; beautification/clean-ups; disaster preparedness and response, conservation.

Social Services:- Programmes for persons with disabilities; health and wellness programmes; youth programmes; the elderly; feeding programmes; shelter/housing assistance programmes; access for disabled persons.

Sports Development :- Sponsorship of (and participation in) teams; tournaments or leagues.

National Bank of Anguilla Ltd 2006 Winner

Cultural Development:- Sponsorship, support of and participation in events or groups designed to foster cultural development and to preserve cultural heritage.

Customer Service:- Customer appreciation programmes; Customer/staff relations; staff training; image.
