Mrs Jennifer Nero, a native of St. Kitts & Nevis, is the Managing Director of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, a position that she has held since December 2005. Prior to that, she has held other senior positions including Director of Internal Audit since joining the bank in August 1994.
Prior to the start of her central bank career, Mrs Nero resided in the United States where she served as a Director at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston from 1990 to 1994. She also served as the Financial Controller of the Corcoran Art Gallery in Washington DC from 1985 to 1990.
Mrs Nero is an accountant by training and currently holds a Certified Public Accountant certificate from the state of Maryland in the United States. She also holds an Advanced Management Program Certificate (AMP 168) from the Harvard Business School earned in June 2005 and later completed the Oxford Strategic Leadership Programme Certificate in November 2007.
Mrs Nero graduated from the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland in the United States with a MBA Degree in Information Technology. Her BS Degree in Accounting was attained from the Southeastern University in Washington, DC in the United States. Prior to her education in the United States, she earned a Teacher’s Certificate from the University of the West Indies.
Mrs Nero is a dedicated sports enthusiast who served as a WICB board member for the ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007 hosted by the West Indies. She was a member for many years of her national St. Kitts Netball team and represented the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis in the World Netball Tournament in 1979. That same year she also helped St. Kitts capture a Caribbean Netball Championship. She was instrumental in the formation of the ECCB’s Sports Club and still participates in various sporting events.
